Content marketing is a great way to gain eyes on your site and make it more meaningful to readers. It's also a great way to make money online. But, before you can get started with content marketing, you'll need to spend some money. And that's where the problem lies. Most content marketing advice tells you to buy leads and “use email marketing” to generate traffic for your site. But those techniques are only good for small businesses who don't have a lot of money to spend and have a limited number of leads to work with. In this blog post, I'm going to show you how to ‘hack' content marketing and make it cost nothing, no leads, and no email marketing.
The Most Important Thing You Can Do For Your Online Business–Planning Is Key
The first step in content marketing is to plan out your strategy. You need to decide what content you want to post and how often you want to post it. For example, if you're marketing a product, you might want to post update after update on your Facebook page. If you're marketing a service, you might want to post blog posts once per week. Once you've decided what content you want to post, it's time to get serious about actually doing it.
Setting Goals–Keeping Them Real–Making Them measurable
When you're planning out your strategy, it's important to set goals for yourself. You need to know what outcome you want from your strategy. For example, if you want more people to engage with your content, you might set goals for yourself like increasing the number of likes on your content or increasing the number of comments on your content. Once you've set goals for yourself, it's time for measurement! You need to know how many people clicked on each post and how many people interacted with each post.
Sticking to Your Content Marketing Plan
Once you've set goals for yourself and measured your progress, it's time to stick to your plan! You need to make sure that you're posting content on the days and times that work best for you. For example, if you're a morning person who reads content during her morning commute, you might set your alarm for 5:30 AM on days when you're posting content and ignore it when it's not working for you. Then, once you get going, you can ignore it when you're done!
Adding Value
Once you're sticking to your plan, you need to add value to your content marketing. You can create powerful content that helps people learn more about your products or services. Or, you can create content that people want to read because it contributes to their interests. Whatever strategy you're going with, you need to give readers something they want to absorbe their attention.
Content marketing is a great way to gain attention from readers and make money online, but only if you spend money on it! If you don't have a lot of money to spend on content marketing (like most small business owners don't), then you need to strive to plan out your strategy, set goals for yourself, and add value to your content. Once you've done that, you can start posting content on a regular basis and measuring your progress.
